What's Coming
Station 85 is more than a restored building. It’s a place where Potwin locals and visitors can come together. Each part of the Station has its own purpose and personality, but they all share one goal: to celebrate local life. From the shelves of Charlie’s Market to the welcoming tables of Bay #5 and the open grass of The Lawn, Station 85 is being built for the community, by the community. Come see what’s growing here.
Named in tribute to Charles Potwin, the town’s founder, Charlie’s Market will serve as a modern food hub designed to strengthen access to healthy, affordable foods while fueling local economic opportunity.
As a community-centered market, Charlie’s will offer fresh produce, pantry staples, locally raised meats, baked goods, and ready-to-heat meals — helping address the long-standing food insecurity challenges faced by Potwin and the surrounding rural area. For many residents, reliable access to quality food has required long drives to other towns. Charlie’s Market aims to change that.
Beyond groceries, the market will operate as a platform for local farmers, growers, makers, and small-scale food producers to showcase and sell their goods. By creating a dedicated marketplace for home-grown and handcrafted products, Charlie’s will help spark new entrepreneurship, support area families, and bring local dollars back into the community.
Whether you’re picking up weekly produce, trying a neighbor’s fresh jam or honey, or exploring new Kansas-made items, Charlie’s Market will be a welcoming, vibrant space rooted in Potwin’s history — and built for its future.
This Italian dried sausage is more than a specialty food; it’s a family tradition that began over 80 years ago. The recipe was passed down from generation to generation in the Boccia family, who first crafted it around the time of World War II. Every link reflects a way of life, community, and the joy of sharing good food. This old-world recipe uses simple ingredients to create a bold and unforgettable flavor.
We are proud to bring this treasured recipe to Station 85, where it will be featured on our charcuterie boards and sold here in our market and gathering spaces. When you enjoy this delicacy you're tasting history, one delicious slice at a time.
Our four families all have a spot at Station 85, but we want you to join us as well! Therefore we look forward to welcoming you to your own personal space at Bay #5. The Bay will offer a cozy rural hangout. A place to slow down, share good food, and reconnect. Guests can enjoy coffee, local beverages, and simple, comforting snacks featuring our own Italian-style sausages and other Kansas-made ingredients. Think charcuterie boards, sandwiches, and rotating seasonal bites in a space built for conversation and community.
From morning coffee to evening gatherings, Bay #5 will host small events, ticketed dinners, and creative get-togethers that bring people together again in the heart of town. Hours will be limited as we get started with a desire to grow to meet the community's needs.
Just outside the Station, The Lawn will be our open-air community space. A welcoming stretch of grass designed for concerts, tournaments, picnic meals, and local events of every kind. It’s where neighbors will gather, kids will play, and visitors will experience Potwin at its best.
We’re already dreaming up ideas and invite community members to share theirs, too. Events are expected to begin in spring 2026, so stay tuned for updates on how to get involved and join us on The Lawn.
